Yard Sale and Silent Auction

Christ Church raises funds to support outreach through the spring and fall yard sale and auction events. The dedicated volunteers work hard to raise money, build community and social capital, and keep "stuff" out of the landfill. And they have fun!

The spring sale on May 1, 2010 from 8am to noon was a great success. We brought in $9,100 in support for Outreach. Thanks to all of the loyal workers and our customers.

The next sale is on August 21, 2010. Mark your calendar! There is plenty to do the whole week prior, starting on Sunday with unpacking the shed and setting up the Great Hall. If you would like to sort through "treasures," laugh a lot, eat well, and share stories, come join us (especially if you have a truck)! Also, if you are not keen on getting up early on Saturday morning, please consider helping with clean-up after the sale.

We accept donated items all year. Please call the church, 552-2411 or contact Carol Fox or Jody Daniels,coordinators if you have things to donate. As a reminder, we will not accept TVs, ping pong tables, and adult clothes.

We have collected over $3,000 in jewelry sales over the past three years for the Outreach Program. If you have jewelry that you would like to donate please contact Jody.

The Spring Fling Luncheon

Spring Fling is an opportunity to share fellowship with co-workers and friends by inviting them to a meal of homemade salads and desserts. This event is held each year on the Wednesday in the last full week in April, Administrative Professionals' Day.

In 2011 the event will be held on April 27. This is a very successful Christ Church tradition that benefits Boys' Home, New River Valley Mental Health Association, and other programs. Watch for more information about the very popular event in The Compass Light.
