Christian Formation Programs
We believe that Christian formation is a life long journey. We offer various opportunities which bring us together to share our common life, enrich our lives and offer encouragement and wisdom. Newcomers and old friends gather to foster intellectual inquiry, spiritual growth and emotional support. Together, we mature in faith, grow in knowledge and love of God, as we endeavor to live lives faithful to our baptismal covenant.
Adult Forum
Adult Forum takes place in the Great Hall between the two morning services on Sundays (9:30 - 10:20). Programs offer a balance of subject matter, including information about mission and ministry activities at Christ Church; programs dealing with Biblical studies, matters of faith, and our Anglican traditions; and programs related to humanitarian issues and our role as Christians and Episcopalians in the world at large.
Programs for the Children & Youth
Children, youth and young adult programs are active during the school year; however, we offer planned events during the summer season.
Campus Ministry
Christ Church's life has always included a component of ministry to the students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech. Today is no exception. Christ Church in partnership with the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia continues the campus ministry tradition in hosting Canterbury Fellowship and providing housing for students involved with campus ministry.
Bible Studies
The Thursday Morning Bible Study meets on Thursdays at 10 a.m. at Virginia Davidson's home. This year the group is studying The Psalms. Please contact the church office if you are interested in attending, 552-2411.
The Rector's Bible Study meets every Tuesday at noon in the church library. Please contact The Rev. Scott West (saw764@yahoo.com) if you are interested.
Diocesan Youth Program (http://youth.dioswva.org)
These events are a great way to make friends and share your faith with other young people in our diocese. Join in the fun at Diocesan Council while parents are at the meetings. Get involved with Youth Ministry Team and help plan and lead events - camping, mission work, meet the youth from the companion diocese, Bradford England.
